An update to the VW Tiguan for 2011 has leaked from the Volkswagen web site ahead of an official reveal at the Geneva Motor Show.
It seems clear that Volkswagen are intending giving their compact softroader – the VW Tiguan – a bit of a nip and tuck for the 2012 model year. A little surprise they were planning for next month’s Geneva motor show.
But someone at VW dropped a bit of a clanger and posted the photo you see above on VW’s German web site. It didn’t stay there long, but long enough for the VW-obsessive members at autopareri to grab the image.
What we see is a sutably refreshed 2011 VW Tiguan looking for ali the world like a boil-washed, 2011 VW Touareg. Which is probably the point. If you’re going to take over the world you need to make sure everyone knows what a VW looks like.
We’re sure there’s more to the Tiguan facelift than a refreshed nose and some LED lights to look like its big brother. There’s a good chance the interior goes a bit upmarket and the engines see a tweak to deliver more power with better economy.
It also looks as if VW may be offering some off-roading options judging by the blue Tiguan in the background of the photo above, which seems to be sporting an off-roading skid-plate at the front. Perfect for the boot sale.
More details when VW do this officially.
