2012 BMW M5 - another teaser video
BMW send us the next instalment in their tease of the 2012 BMW M5, this time a video showing the M5 driving openly but still disguised.
The tease for the 2012 BMW M5 started just ten days ago when we published BMW’s first M5 teaser video. Just the briefest of glances of the new M5 – still camouflaged – in a snowy, evocative landscape.
But now we get what appears to be the same video only this time we get shots of the still camouflaged M5 cut in instead of cut out. And it looks just like… a new M5 with swirly bits on.
It’s hard to get too excited by the video, as it really tells us little we don’t know. We know, for example, that the noise we hear is coming from a 4.4 litre, twin turbo V8 which, we are promised, will have more power than the same lump in the X5M.
We also know that the new M5 will come equipped with a seven-speed DCT ‘box with three modes. We also think that, for the first time, there will be no manual ‘box option.
We also think, and this ‘almost undisguised’ video tends to confirm it, that BMW will give the 2012 its first public outing at the Shanghai Motor Show next month.
