Kia has revealed that the 2013 Sorento – which will debut at the Paris Motor Show next month – will get a choice of two diesel and one petrol engines.
But now, ahead of a debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show, the engine lineup for the 2013 Kia Sorento in Europe has been revealed.
On offer will be the same two diesel engines the Sorento currently has plus a petrol engine (although it’s still unclear if Kia UK will offer the petrol option).
The familiar 2.0 litre diesel with 148bhp carries over, as does the 2.2 CRDi. But the 2.2 CRDi gets some severe green fettling to drop its emissions from 171g/km to 153g/km, dropping four BIK bands in the process. Interestingly, Kia hasn’t revealed emissions for the 2.0 litre diesel in the new Sorento, which are 169g/km in the current Sorento.
The 2.4 litre petrol engine with 194bhp will also be on offer in some European markets although it’s not yet clear if that will include the UK, where car buyers have become fixated with having a diesel engine even when their mileage doesn’t warrant it.
The 2013 Kia Sorento will go on sale after the Paris Motor Show debut.
