The estate version of the 2013 Renault Clio – the Renault Clio Sport Tourer – has been revealed in a Renault promo video.
It was only last week we had the reveal of the 2013 Renault Clio, a new Clio Renault hopes will revive the flagging fortunes of the Clio, a car that used to underpin Renault’s sales in the UK.As part of Renault’s PR offensive, they’ve produced a video outlining the design and production process for the new Clio; lots of arty types penning stunning shapes, new Clios undergoing testing and the shiny new Clio rolling off the production line. The usual stuff.
But lurking in the video is the first glimpse of the new Clio Sport Tourer being subjected to a bit of suspension testing. It’s not on view for long, but it’s there for all to see.
We don’t believe for a minute that the sight of the new Clio Estate is a mistake, rather a Renault tease for the load-lugging version of the new Clio.
Logically, the new Clio Sport Tourer – which gets a stylish looking small shed bolted to the back, roof rails, wrap around lights, a sloping roofline, a roof spoiler and the same hidden door handles on the back door as the hatch – will get the same range of engines as the new Clio hatch. That will mean – certainly when it launches – the 1.5 litre dCi 90, 1.2 turbo TCe 120 and the new TCe 90 900cc 3-pot.
With the new Clio due to debut at Paris in September and go on sale in early 2013, it’s logical that the new Renault Clio Sport tourer will debut at Geneva in March next year before going on sale in late 2013.
More when we get it.

David Fyfe says
You do not mention that Renault are adamant that they will not be putting the new Clio Tourer on sale in the UK. As the owner of one of the first versions I was really looking forward to upgrading this year, and now am reluctantly having to compromise by testing the hatchback version(lovely looking car but) on Friday.
Thank you,DF.
