The 2017 Ford Fiesta is about to go on sale in the UK, with prices starting at £12,715 for the Fiesta Style rising to £19.345 for the Fiesta Vignale.
The latest Ford Fiesta was revealed in November as a more grown-up supermini, allowing Ford to deliver the new Ford KA+ without too much buyer cross over between the two.
Ford tells us the new Fiesta goes on sale in the UK in the spring (isn’t that about now?), with the core models available out of the gate, but the Fiesta Active and the Fiesta ST not available until the summer.
Starting point for the new Fiesta range in the UK is the Fiesta Style which will costs from £12,715, which is a bit more than the VW Polo’s starting price and quite a chunk more than the Vauxhall Corsa’s. But that’s not likely to stop the Fiesta remaining the UK’s favourite car.
The most popular Fiesta – at least for the last Fiesta – was the Fiesta Zetec, and the new Zetec will cost from £14,125 with 15″ alloys, heated windscreen, SYNC 3 DAB, CarPlay and Android Auto.
You can also add to the Zetec, and the Titanium too, a new Ford option for the Fiesta – B&O Play.
As you can probably guess, B&O Play gives you a much better sound system by B&O complete with ten speakers, subwoofer in the boot and a mid-range speaker on the top of the dash (Volvo XC90 stye, we assume). You also get the choice of two colour themes – Bohai Bay Mint and Chrome Copper.
Topping the new Fiesta range is no longer a Titanium XXX Ghia (or whatever it currently is), but the Fiesta Vignale, a Fiesta costing from £19,345 and with ambitions to nick buyers from MINI and Audi in the process.
A starting price of £19k for the Vignale Fiestas isn’t cheap, but you do get proper grown-up toys like Black Ruby leather, heated seats and panoramic roof, as well as 17″ alloys and unique body styling and grille.
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain boss, said:
Ford’s 40-year reign of the UK car market began in 1976 when the Fiesta was first launched. Since then Fiesta has been firmly established as part of the fabric of Britain – and remained at the top of the sales charts for the last eight years.
With so many new Fiesta faces coming this year, including B&O PLAY Editions for music lovers and the luxurious Vignale execution, it’s set to stay at number one.
