Audi has finally released all the details and information on the 2010 Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro – the convertible R8.
Gone are the side blades, as we reported the other day, adding integrated air-intakes in their place. And Audi have made them in carbon fibre – the same as the cover for the soft top – in a bid to save weight. But they’ve not been all that successfull, as the R8 Spyder weighs in at a not inconsiderable 476 lbs more than the coupe R8.
With that amount of extra weight – almost a whole American – it’s no wonder Audi opted to give the R8 Spyder just one engine option – the V10. Which even with all that extra weight still manages to do the 0-60 sprint in 4.1 seconds, and on up to 194.5 mph.
Belwo there is the full gallery of Audi R8 Spyder photos we were sent tonight, and you can have a look at the Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro Press Release if you want every scintilla of detail.
No news on price or when the R8 Spyder will be in showrooms. Best guess is early 2010 in the UK and around £100,000.
