Audi S7 Spied

Audi S7 Spy

Audi S7 caught out playing

We have a spy shot of the Audi S7 which could feature an all new, twin-turbo V8 when it arrives at Paris next week.

We got the launch of the Audi A7 in July and here we are – just a couple of months on – expecting the Audi S7 to surface at the Paris Motor Show next week. And just in time we’ve got a spy shot of the hot S7 out playing and looking pretty much production-ready; as it should if it’s going to bow in next week.

It seems clear this is not an A7 with an S-Line pack as it’s sporting a pair of twin exhausts out back which, as far as we can recall, don’t appear on any A7. So what is connected to the other end of those tail pipes? To be honest, we’re not too sure.

We did think that the latest 4.2 litre V8 from the new Audi R8 V8 Spyder would be finding its way under the bonnet of the S7, but there are now rumours running around that the S7 will get an all new 4.0 litre, twin-turbo V8 with something north of 450b hp. Which sounds appealing.

What we do know is that the S7 will get lower and stiffer suspension, beefier brakes, bigger wheels and tyres, some go-faster bits and more bolstered seats. We also know it will get much more liberal use of carbon fibre and aluminum. Or so Audi’s Design Director Stefan Sielaff said back in December in an unguarded moment.

Mind you, he also said we’d get an Audi S1, not an Audi A1 1.4 TFSI.
