Bentley Continental Supersports – Driven at Goodwood

Derek Bell took the Bentley Continental Supersports up the Goodwood Hillclimb

Derek Bell took the Bentley Continental Supersports up the Goodwood Hillclimb

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is more than a week ago, and we did a round up after it finished. And there were lots of goodies to savour, such as the new Jaguar XK Goodwood Special in Lime Green and the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M taking on the Goodwood Hillclimb.

So this bit of news – and video – is slightly out of sync, but as it features Bentley’s fastest car ever – and Derek Bell driving – so it was hard not to give you the chance to have a look.

The Bentley Supersports is what all ‘Eco’ cars should be – madly powerful but with a green badge and it can run on E85 Bio Fuel! The Bentley Supersports manages to churn out 612bhp from its 6.0 litre, twin-turbo W12 engine, delivering the 0-60mph sprint in 3.7 seconds and on to over 200mph. It didn’t reach 200mph on the Goodwood Hillclimb, but it did manage speeds of over 100mph which, considering that the Goodwood Hillclimb is steep, narrow and lined with flint walls and woodland, is some achievement.

A great bit of driving.
