Jaguar Land Rover’s SVO has built a bespoke Range Rover SVAutobiography-Dynamic for Heavyweight boxing champ Anthony Joshua which previews the SVO Design Pack.
Jaguar Land Rover has been expressing irritation of late over specialist customisers – like Overfinch – taking their products and titivating them. And they plan to fight back.
That plan revolves around the work Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) is able to deliver, promising they can do a better job than any outside specialist could ever hope to do. And the first salvo in that fight back is fired with this, a bespoke Range Rover SVAutobiography-Dynamic for Heavyweight boxing champ Anthony Joshua MBE.
Ahead of Joshua’s WBA Super Title bout against Wladimir Klitschko this weekend, Joshua has taken delivery of his new SVO Range Rover, and it not only gives Land Rover and SVO some headlines, but previews a new SVO Design Pack option rolling out in May.
The bespoke Range Rover has been built at the SVO Technical Centre near Coventry, and features the new SVO Design Pack with a new exterior colour – World Champion Graphite – diamond quilted leather interior (hello Overfinch) in black and red and with Joshua’s signature stitched on the driver’s headrest.
Other titivations include a bespoke sports equipment storage unit in the boot, a chrome B-pillar badge with Joshua’s signature, door handles with boxing glove pattern and more Joshua signatures on the door cards and treadplates (it might have been cheaper if Joshua had bought a Sharpie).
David Fairbairn, JLR’s Head of SVO Projects, said:
It was a pleasure to welcome Anthony Joshua to the SVO Technical Centre and we are pleased to name him among our clients. He is extremely popular among our employees and we wish him well this weekend.
The performance and features of the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic espouse the attributes of an elite athlete like Anthony Joshua: distinctive style, powerful at heart and a jaw-dropping combination of performance and capability.
It’s all designed to put a spotlight on JLR’s SVO offerings – which it certainly does – with Jaguar Land Rover promising full details of the SVO Design Pack next month (June 2017).
And good luck to Anthony Joshua for tomorrow against Wladimir Klitschko.
