Tuner AC Schnitzer are offering aerodynamic and performance mods to the BMW X1 – The AC Schnitzer X1 E84. Debuts at the Geneva Motor Show.
The BMW X1 hasn’t been with us very long. Despite that BMW has already had a play with the range and added a new entry level model – the BMW X1 sDrive18i – and the straight six BMW X1 X1 xDrive25i. And now it’s the turn of AC Schnitzer - renowned tuners of BMWs – to have a crack at the X1.
The AC Schnitzer BMW X1 E84 – you’ll be shocked to know – gets a more aggressive look, more power and a whole heap of new badges. They’re offering engine mods from the 1.8d through to the X1 xDrive 28i, but in an age when car buyers – and in particular buyers of a small crossover/SUV – are looking for economy the most interesting mods from AC Schnitzer are to the 1.8d and the 2.0d, which get 171 and 210 horse respectively, a healthy increase from the stock figures of 143 and 177.
There’s not much point (at least in the eyes of tuners like AC Schnitzer) of having more power unless you can shout about it (prefer the ‘Talk Softly/Big Stick’ angle personally) so you get a comprehensive aerodynamics kit which includes front spoiler, rear skirt extension, rear roof spoiler and AC Schnitzer Bonnet Vents. Inside you get “Exclusiv” carbon interior trim, illuminated leather gear knob, aluminium gear knobs (with or without digital gear display), “Black Line” aluminium cover for the i-Drive system controller, aluminium handbrake handle and pedal set, foot rests and velours foot mats.
To add the final touch to your AC Schnitzer BMW X1 E84 you get a choice of 18″, 19″ or 20″ alloys – in bi-colour if you want them.
A bit shouty, but with the addition of AC Schnitzer’s suspension spring kit and an aluminium strut brace the handling should be more car-like, but probably on the firm side of firm. No word on price (I guess AC Schnitzer will relieve you of as much as they can) but a decent option for someone looking to make their baby Beemer a bit more individual.
The BMW X1 by AC Schnitzer will be at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

it’s a shame our government system never cottened on to how easy it should be to set up a position for say an ideas minister to whom people could express new designs/ideas,so we end up with a propper way to ensure things develop on merrit not soleyy dependent on whether one has money or not(discounting that morally evil Dragon’s Den) because i have to sit here and read about that which i can do better(ie road tests) but it must sit in my head
I AM VERY IMPRESSED OF THIS CAR.I HAD NEVER EXPECTED THE X MODELS TO BE BRANDED WITH AC SCHNITZER THE MOST POWERFUL BMW EVER
.I KNOW WHAT I MEAN BECAUSE MY BROTHER OWNS ONE.NOTHING MESSES WITH US NO THE ROAD.ALL THE BEST BMW FORWARD WE GO.
