BMW X4 Sketch
It looks like BMW has signed off the BMW X4 for production. Expect it in showrooms late 2013, with a concept X4 late 2011.
There’s been talk about producing a little brother for the BMW X6 since… well, since the BMW X6 turned from a ‘They’ll never build that’ to ‘The’y'll never sell that ‘ to ‘Blimey, that’s selling well’. And with the world seemingly obsessed by frugality, smaller versions of successful models are inevitable.
We last brought news on the BMW X4 in April when our sources were telling us that BMW were close to signing off production of the X4. And it looks like our sources were right, because BMW now see a BMW X4 as a natural Bavarian riposte to the forthcoming Porsche Cajun, and are set to launch the baby X6 in late 2013.
The sketch you see it the top is a BMW sketch and shows how the BMW X4 is likely to look – not that you need much help to work it out. Much of the oily bits will be shared with the new BMW X3 and rumour has it we can expect to see an X4M at some point.
Look out for a ‘Concept’ BMW X4 at a motor show late 2011.
