Bugatti Royale or Bugatti Bordeaux?

We reported the other day on a scan of an invitation sent out to Veyron owners for a special Bugatti event in September – the 100th Anniversary of Bugatti. Specualtion was that the invitation showed the shadowy out line of a new Bugatti – The Bugatti Bordeaux.

And now Pistonheads has got hold of a clearer version of the invitation – the one you see above. It doesn’t really show a lot more, but you can clearly make out eight exhausts and what seems to be a thin strip of brake lights running down a split rear screen. It’s also clearly not a Veyron. But what is it?

We still favour a four-door saloon, probably based on the new Grand Bentley underpinnings, but featuring the Bugatti W16. And we would be much happier if this was the new Bugatti Royale rather than the Bugatti Bordeaux, which frankly has no history – it may as well be the Bugatti Plonk.

It’s fun to speculate, and we’re pumping our contacts for what we can get. All we’re getting at the moment is the admission that the event will feature ‘something very special’. We worked that out for ourselves!
