Fiat tried to get America to fall in love with the 500 by getting Jennifer Lopez to strut around with their new baby. But it wasn’t exactly an overwhelming success.
So when they introduced the Fiat 500 Abarth (Abarth gets ‘Fiat’ in front in the US so the natives don’t get confused) they figured they needed to go for something a bit racier and a lot sexier. Wisely, they chose Catrinel Menghia, and the first advert for the 500 Abarth with the gorgeous Menghia was warmly received by many a red-blooded male (and female, we have no doubt).
So having used the delightful Ms Menghia once to such great effect Fiat has decided to push the boat out and use her again to keep the loins of American car buyers on fire with a trio of new adverts.
We get a repeat of the slap from the first advert and some pouting, racing and a decent dose of leather to inject some steaminess. Sadly, the adverts - ‘Winning’, ‘Sin City’ and ‘Burning up the Desert’ – don’t hit the mark quite as well as the first advert.
Still, anything with Catrinel Menghia in is worth a few minutes of your time, especially when it’s with the pocket rocket Abarth 500.
