our new c3 piccasso has only covered 11000 miles in its 12 month life and the front brake disc,s are warped citroen say they only warp because of corrosion and that is not covered by there warranty. The retail pric e quoted by our citroen dealer(SB CITREON WAKEFIELD) is £225 !! there is no corrosion what so ever on the disc,s and only 1000 miles ago the car was in the dealers for its 10000 mile service , EVERYTHING WAS CHECKED AND SIGNED OFF AS OK as part of there service (£213.00).Does anybody out there think this is a bit excessive or am i the only one
Regards

Citroen C1s are really cute like a Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo. I would only like a Citroen C1 and a Toyota Aygo because Peugeot 107s arent my favourite car. Toyota Aygos would be the cheapest out of all these cars. I would say a toyota Aygo would be around £7.500 a peugeot 107 would be about £9.995 and a Citroen C1 would be about £8.750. Im shoked that only 36 people have bought a Citroen C1 i see plenty of them were i live. There is a chip shop and it is near were i live but they carry there deliverys in a Citroen C1 and there is plenty of cars byt apart from delivery cars there is harly any Citroen c1s on the road only delivery cars

Best thing is to go to citroen.co.uk click on the contact us link at the bottom of the page.
At the bottom of the contact us page is another link re the recall - click on that and enter your VIN no from log book - it will tell you that 34 cars are affected and yours (hopefully) is not

As far as i know. the ESP (or CSC - cornering stability control as it is also known) has always been standard on the Citroen C1. I am therefore very suprised at the announcement stating only 36 cars are affected.

Re warren's querie: The vehicle number is recorded in the vehicle documents along with the owner's name and address. In this day of supercomputers I would expect the manufacutrer to contact Swansea and then Swansea to issue recalls, by post, within hours. They, (Swansea) should do something for the fees we have already paid. Too great an expectation?

Thanks very much for the speedy reply. I have a basic spec C1 so I doubt very much that this optional extra has been fitted.
I expect Citroën customer services are currently overloaded with worried customers, so I shan't bother to phone them. If they have identified that there are only 36 vehicles affected, I would expect to receive a letter by tomorrow asking me to get this fixed. I can wait that long.

Sorry Steve, we should have made is clearer, as it's quite unreasonable of us to expect every reader to know what ESP is.
ESP stands for Electronic Stability Programme, and it uses some clever electronic gizmos - and the brakes - to help prevent you losing control during emergency (or 'enthusiastic') manoeuvres. Only 36 C1s in the UK have ESP fitted - and none of them are diesels. But if your car is petrol-engined - and you don't feel knowledgeable enough to start foraging round your brake pedal or engine compartment to see if your car has a throttle cable (cars with ESP use a 'fly-by-wire pedal which sends information by electronic means so there is no cable) then call Citroen Contact Centre on 0844 463 3500.
We'll try to explain things a bit better in future!
