Citroen GT- GTbyCitroen Goodwood update & Video

As you will have seen, we’ve run quite a few stories on the GTbyCitroen over the last few weeks as it does a promo tour round Europe prior to a limited production run.

We reported last week on the GTbyCitroen doing a London tour to recreate its Grand Turismo 5 Video game exploits, which we now have on video for you at the bottom of this piece. But there is also more news on the Citroen GT production and its appearance at Goodwood.

It now looks as if Citroen have officially decided to make a limited run of the GTbyCitroen. Yes, we all knew they intended to, but now it seems official. Just 6 cars will be made and each is likely to cost around £1.1 million. Quite a chunk of change for a Citroen, but this is like no Citroen before. But we still don’t know what power plant it will receive. Best bet seems to be on a Ford V8 with at least 550bhp, but that still hasn’t been signed off.

The Goodwood gig is confirmed as is the Hillclimb by the GT. But as we still don’t know what engine will be in the production version, or indeed what engine is in this promo version, we don’t know whether the Hillclimb will be a sprint or a coast. But it does seem likely that if it’s a sprint then the GTbyCitroen will driven by Sebastian Loeb, who is at Goodwood to drive the Citroen C4 WRC.

Guess we’ll have to wait until the weekend to find out.
