Ferrari 550 GTZ – For Sale
Just five Ferrari 550 GTZ cars are being made as the final official Ferrari Zagato swansong. They are all sold, but one is back on the market before it’s been delivered.
Last month we exclusively reported that Zagato are building what will be the final Zagato Ferrari – the 550 GTZ. Based on the 550 Barchetta just five are being made, and all are sold. In fact – we’re told – three of the cars are already with the buyers.
Which rather makes a nonsense of the grief we got for running the pictures last month, when we were threatened with legal action by the image owners if we didn’t take the pictures down. Which is why you see an ‘Illustration’ at the top, even though the photos are posted all over the interweb. But we thought we’d play safe.
What is interesting is that even though the 550 GTZs are all sold one is back on the market – before they’re even officially announced (why on earth Zagato and Ferrari haven’t done so after our story doesn’t make sense). Not only is it for sale but as it’s the only 550 GTZ still speccable the new owner can even choose colour and trim options.
There seems to be a premium attached to the car, which is to be expected. Even though the price was officially a pretty stratospheric £1.1 million there is little doubt that as the last official Zagato Ferrari the 550 GTZ will probably be a good long-term investment. And let’s face it, it’s no more money that a Lamborghini Reventon, but in terms of style and kudos it is – in our opinion – in a different league.
So if you’re a Ferrari nut – and have deep pockets – there is a Ferrari 550 GTZ Zagato out there for the taking. It isn’t officially available, but it can definitely be acquired – if you know where to go.
Form an orderly queue.
