Ferrari 600 GTB leaked?

All the news in the last week from Ferrari has been on the new Ferrari 458 Italia. And it’s proved very popular, to say the least. On the day we reported on the first proper news of the 458 Italia we had thousands of visitors looking for Ferrari 458 Wallapapers. So we thought we ought to do the right thing and stick a few up for desperate 458 fans to download. And they are. In their thousands a day.

But it looks like all the interest in the 458 might just have got Ferrari a little flustered. Their web bods have updated the Ferrari website to show the information we brought you last week, but in the process they put up a nice little box which said ‘Coming soon – Ferrari 600 GTB‘. Interesting.

Ferrari are blaming this on a web error. Yeah, right. Where did the original info come from for it to be a web error? We do a fair few web updates ourselves (endlessly – every day!) and I’m sorry, but this is no error. It may be a prank by a web bod, but no way was it an accident. Unless they mean ‘accident’ in the sense that the web team had the info but weren’t supposed to post it!

So, assuming it’s a cock-up and been released too soon, what is the Ferrari 600 GTB? No idea! Seems far too soon to throw out a new 599 – although that seems the most likely basis for a 600 GTB – but it’s possible it could be a limited edition 599 with a few tweaks.

Still, nice to see we’re not the only ones to drop a clanger on their web site from time to time!
