I see Smart cars now - something I saw in Europe 8 years ago...okay, so we're behind BUT high gas prices and nimbleness will dictate change...The 500 is perfect for certain areas and certainly NOT TOO LARGE to an important younger and in this instance more practical segment of America: I will buy a 500 as soon as it is offered! I wouldn't claim that the "Yanks" wont buy Fiat, because they will buy American cars :) Nothing is ever "national" in global economy... Toyota and Honda are not US and have a strong position. Fiat would have a problem with getting in the market because of the unknown brand and lack of infrastructure. So they will get there as Chrysler... But it wont change one fact: 500 is just to small for US:) very nice article.
