A leaked roadmap of the progression of new models for the Genesis brand has been leaked, showing the arrival of the G70 later in 2016.
As Hyundai add yet another Volkswagen designer to their team building the new luxury Genesis brand, we discover exactly what Hyundai has planned for Genesis thanks to a leaked roadmap acquired by the Korean Car Blog.
Assuming the leak is a real document, the impressive Genesis New York Concept we saw earlier this year will arrive in production guise later in 2016 to take on cars like the BMW 3-Series, and if the production version stays close to the concept is should be a very good looking car.
We already have the Genesis G90 – the EQ900 in Korea – and the G80 expected to arrive any time soon, but beyond those two – and the new G70 – Genesis will be delivering another three new cars in the next few years.
Those three cars are a couple of SUVs – one Genesis is calling a mid-luxury SUV and the other a near luxury SUV – which should mean aiming at cars like the Mercedes GLE and Audi Q5 with the mid-size, and perhaps the GLS and Q7 with the near luxury model.
But also on the Genesis roadmap is a coupe, but what exactly that will be we’re not sure. Will it be a coupe take on the G70, or will it be something bigger, perhaps in the mould of the 2015 Vision G Concept which was based on the G80’s platform?
