Back in March we exclusively revealed that Lamborghini are launching the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster. Just nine of the roadster versions are to be produced, and the price is an eye-watering €1.2 million.
In March our sources at Lamborghini told us that the announcement was imminent, and that deposits had been taken on all nine cars. Which was completely true – at the time. But as Lamborghini has still failed – nearly four months on – to release details of the Reventon Roadster, we thought we ought to chase the story down and find out if the story was a wrong ‘un.
The story is true, and Lamborghini will be announcing the Reventon Roadster. But of the deposits Lamborghini had on the car, two have fallen out of bed. Which means there are only deposits on seven cars. And Lamborghini won’t announce the Reventon Roadster until all the cars are done deals. Which explains the delay.
So if you want to see the car sooner rather than later – or you don’t know what to do with the odd €1.2M (+tax) you’ve got in the petty cash – give Lamborghini a call and stick a deposit down. Then we can all see what must surely be the last iteration of the Murcielago before it ends production.
