Lamborghini Sesto Elemento For Sale

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento - already up for sale in Germany

Despite not being officially announced by Lamborghini, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento has cropped up for sale on a German web site.

At the Paris Motor Show in September we were expecting Lamborghini to bring along their replacement for the Murcielago – the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. What we actually got was the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, a super-light supercar showcasing how Lamborghini aim to make their cars faster by being lighter, rather than just adding more power.

Lamborghini made it clear that the Sesto Elemento (means sixth element – which is carbon) was just a concept, but we did subsequently report that Lamborghini had given the Sesto Elemento a green light for production. Not as a road car, but as a track special. The price was said to be around €2.5 million.

What’s rather surprising – especially as Lamborghini has yet to officially announce production of the Sesto Elemento – is that one has cropped up for sale on Mobile.de, the German version of a high-end Autotrader. They are running an advert from German Supercar dealer Auto Salon Singen who are offering the Sesto Elemento – which they say is one of ten – for 2,261,900 – just under €2 million plus vat.

Now we do know that Auto Salon Singen often advertise cars owned by customers rather than themselves. So we’re guessing that a Salon Singen customer has got a confirmed order in with Lamborghini for the Sesto Elemento and wants to sell it on.

Which would suggest – at the asking price in this advert – that the Sesto Elemento is going to cost somewhat less than the reported €2.5 million. More like €1.5 million, we’d guess. Of course, it could all just be made up and a ploy to get attention for Auto Salon Singen.

Perish the thought.
