One of the special Land Rover Defender SVX models created by Bowler for the James Bond film SPECTRE is up for grabs at R M Sotheby’s London auction.
Two years ago, ahead of the debut of the James Bond SPECTRE movie, Jaguar Land Rover revealed that cars they were supplying to star in the latest Bond film.
They included the Range Rover Sport SVR, the Jaguar C-X75 and, what JLR called, the Land Rover Defender Big Foot.
The Big Foot Defender was actually the Land Rover Defender SVX Concept, created by Land Rover Specialists Bowler and looking like it could crush Everest, never mind climb it.
Bowler created just ten Defender SVX models, of which eight are in private hands, and now this one (pictured above) is going under the hammer at R M Sothebey’s auction in London on 6 September.
Starting out as a Santorina Black crew-cab 110, Bowler fitted 37″ tyres, uprated the suspension with rose joints and Bilstein dampers, a full roll cage, power upped from the Defender’s paltry 120bhp to a more usable 185bhp and Recaro seats.
The current owner bought this Defender direct from Bowler, and as it was only used for drive-by shots it’s suffered no damage.
With the market for Defenders of all types incredibly strong, expect this James Bond Land Rover Defender to fetch a suitably silly price.
