Lexus has revealed the Lexus CT 200h F Sport at the Sydney Motor Show, an F Sport version of the new CT 200 hybrid.
Just as we’re getting used to the idea that the Lexus CT 200h might not be quite as bad as we thought – although we are still appalled by the ‘eggs in a basket’ mentality of offering just a hybrid – along comes a model that shouts oxymoron – the Lexus CT 200h F Sport.
In an effort to appeal to those who want make a ‘Sporty’ statement, Lexus has decided that there should be an F Sport version of the hybrid-only CT 200h.
Lexus are keen to point out that the CT 200h F Sport “…receives a number of visual and performance enhancements in keeping with Lexus’ F Sport model line-up”. trouble is, we can’t find the ‘Performance’ bit of the upgrade.
I guess we’re looking for performance in the accepted sense of the word – it goes faster – but is seems Lexus want us to consider the lateral dampers, deployed front and rear, as performance additions as they mean the F-Sport CT 200h has ‘Unique Suspension’. Oh, well.
Apart from the extra damping you get unique interior trim, F Sport steering wheel, sports pedals and privacy glass. And of course front and rear ‘Styling’, alloy wheels and badging.
As far as we can see, that’s it. Oh, tell a lie, you also get the option of ‘Lexus’ unique Flame Blue exterior colour’.
That sealed the deal, then
