Lexus are using Kylie Minogue to promote the Lexus CT 200h. Kylie also takes delivery of her own CT 200h and Lexus promote her 2001 UK Tour – Aphrodite – Les Folies.
The Lexus CT 200h is a new dawn for Lexus. It’s the first time they’ve competed at the compact exec level and they need to turn the world on to the difference that is the CT 200h. So they’ve grabbed Kylie.
Which is something we’ve all pondered in an idle moment, but Lexus has the benefit of very deep pockets and a new product to promote, and what better route to go than to flaunt Ms Minogue with their new baby?
And actually, it is a very smart move. On the whole Kylie is loved by men and women, straight and gay. Which is not something you can say for many ‘Celebs’. No one feels threatened by Kylie and yet she’s cute, far from stupid and very well put together. Which is no doubt what Lexus want us to think of the CT 200h.
As well as cross-media campaign featuring Kylie Minogue extolling the virtues of the CT 200h, Ms Minogue takes delivery of her own CT 200h for blatting around town and Lexus stump up to promote her 2011 UK tour – Aphrodite – Les Folies.
