Lexus LFA: NOT all sold in the US after all

The Lexus LF-A

The Lexus LF-A - NOT sold out after all

Despite having claimed earlier this week that it had sold all 500 Lexus LFA supercars, Lexus now say there are still at least 21 available in the USA. Odd.

We reported just a few days that Toyota were saying that all 500 Lexus LFA Supercars are sold out. We didn’t make it up – honest guv – but used a report coming from a very reliable source – trade news outlet Automotive News – who quoted Lexus.

But it wasn’t just a ‘Lexus Said’ style report, it went in to detail. Lexus had said that a third of the cars were going to Germany (a big number) although they refused to give detail of sales in other markets. And now it seems they’ve changed their minds.

Lexus are now saying that there are still cars available - in the USA. It would seem that all those expressing an interest weren’t entirely serious. You don’t say? So suddenly there are LFAs up for grabs – but only if you want to lease them.

Not only are there cars available in the US, but Lexus are diverting an additional 21 LFAs for lease in the US in addition to the 150 originally allocated. Why? Didn’t they sell in the markets they were originally allocated to?

All a bit odd.
