The Lister Thunder – a 666 bhp take on the Jaguar F-Pace – is flying off the shelf, with 22 of the 99 cars being built sold in the first 24 hours.
Within 24 hours of revealing the first details, Lister had sold 22 of the 99 car run, garnering more than £3 million of orders in the process. But that’s perhaps no great surprise.
With decades of experience in making Jaguar cars special – perhaps the most notable being the ‘Knobbly‘ – Lister have taken the F-Type and given it a thorough seeing to to create the Thunder.
The headline is the increase of around 100bhp on the most powerful F-Type you can get from Jaguar – the £113k Jaguar F-Type SVR – enough to get the Thunder to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, 100 mph in 6.8 seconds and on to 208mph.
You’ll be able to get the power down too, as the Thunder comes with 4WD, and at £140k the Lister Thunder is a sensible £27k more than the SVR from Jaguar. A not too alarming uplift.
You can spend more on frivolities like a carbon fibre bonnet, but the price does include special Nappa leather, hand stitched interior, carbon fibre bumper and splitter and a thunderous exhaust, so all you actually need is there in the standard offering.
Lister are planning to deliver more ‘Thunder’ versions of Jaguar models, and they’ll also be offering retro-fit body kits in case you’ve already got a Jaguar you want to look like a Lister.
