Endeavour Automotive are capitalising on the impending resurgence of Lotus under Geely ownership by opening a new Lotus dealership – Lotus Colchester.
Unless you’re in the South East, you’re unlikely to have heard of the Endeavour Automotive dealerships, but they seem to be a dynamic bunch with a good eye for what the car-buying public want, and a good eye for an opportunity.
They currently have a number of Volvo and Hyundai dealerships, and even an LEVC outlet to flog Geely’s new electric taxi in Chiswick. And now, having experienced the Geely offerings with Volvo and LEVC, they’re starting a new adventure with Geely’s latest acquisition – Lotus Colchester.
Lotus Colchester opened this week next to Endeavour’s Hyundai dealership in Colchester – just off the A120 and only a couple of minutes from the A12 – to become only the third Lotus dealership in East Anglia (there’s one in Norwich – naturally – and one near Stansted).
For now, we’re sure Lotus Colchester will be making hay with Lotus’s seemingly endless, and expensive, ‘Limited Edition’ specials, but with Geely planning a £1.5 billion investment to “Unleash the Potential of Lotus Cars”, and a new Lotus SUV and two new Lotus Sports cars due in the next three years, Endeavour’s new adventure looks like it will be properly interesting.
Adrian Wallington, Endeavour Automotive MD, said:
The quality and customer focus of the Geely brands reflects our own values, and our investment in new sectors demonstrates the confidence we have in the fantastic products already available and which are in future development. I was very impressed when I visited the Lotus factory myself just a few weeks ago, and with the recent news that Phil Popham has been appointed to lead the brand, I can say for certain that it’s a truly exciting time to be involved with Lotus.
If Volvo can repeat with Lotus what they’ve achieved with Volvo, Endeavour’s new venture could be perfectly timed.
