LSE shows the Range Rover Sport ‘Tiret’ Coupe

When the Range Rover Sport was at the concept car stage in 2004 (Stormer Concept), the car was shown as a 2 door coupe, which frankly no one thought would actually make it in to production. Well it did, but in a toned-down version as the Range Rover Sport, which was essentially a re-bodied Disco with a strong resemblance to the full sized Range Rover. However, the 2 door coupe idea never got of the ground until London design company LSE got their hands on the RRS.

The LSE Coupe is not quite as radical as the original Stormer Concept, but it goes a good way to addressing the style issues that surround the Land Rover version of the car; the LSE is certainly more individual. Powered by either the regular 4.2 supercharged lump (or the TDV8 as an option), the standard S/C lump can be tweaked to deliver either 480bhp or 520bhp. But even the regular S/C in the LSE comes with a tweaked ECU to deliver more power and torque than the standard unit.

Not surprisingly, as the LSE costs more than twice the standard RRS, a big market place is the Middle East, where they really do like unique cars. And with that in mind LSE is busy showing the latest version of the LSE Coupe – the ‘Tiret Coupe’ - produced in a collaboration with the Tiret Watch Company in New York.

The brief for the Tiret Coupe was ‘The Best of Everything’, which suits the ethos of its target market perfectly. The exterior body styling design includes flared wheel arches, twin chromed LSE tailpipes, LED lighting and 22″ LSE alloy wheels. A full glass panoramic sunroof provides  plenty of light and space. The interior includes sculptured ‘Nappa’ leather seating, with lots of wood and the ultimate in diamonds, unique to the owner.

So, if you’re looking for a diamond encrusted SUV, and you’ve got deep pockets, you can trot along to the show at Baselworld 2009 in Switzerland until the 2nd April.
