Mazda RX-8 Facelift – Official

The Mazda RX-8 facelift for 2010 has been confirmed

The Mazda RX-8 facelift for 2010 has been confirmed

As we reported earlier today, Mazda will be bringing the facelifted Mazda RX-8 to the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Well, that report earlier was what our sources had told us  but, as is the way with leaked information, Mazda got their act together and announced it officially late today.

It’s all much as we said earlier. The Mazda RX-8 gets a facelift pretty much in line with what we’d detailed earlier based on the RX-8′s recent facelift in Japan. The front gets a tweak to bring it more in to line with the family features – as seen on the Mazda 3 – and LED lights are bolted on the back. The exhaust pipes go round and the side skirts get a tweak. The 2010 Mazda RX-8 also gets a set of new, 19″ alloys.

Inside the seats are black leather and suede and the dash gets a tweak. Bluetooth, Bose and Recaros are standard as are auto lights and wipers.

As usual, there is more detail in the Mazda RX-8 2010 Facelift Press Release.

This is the RX-8 R3 which has been for sale in the UK for the past 10 months or so.

The ONLY updates are the Blue Tooth, Rain Sensing Wipers and Auto Headlights on/off.

And you are still wrong, this is the 09 for Germany who has not had the face lift of a year ago. As they were still selling old stocks or series 1.
