The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 – and the GLC 63 Coupe – go on sale in the UK priced from £68,920 for the GLC 63 to £93,129 for the Edition 1 GLC 63 S Coupe.
The cooking version GLC 63 has to make do with ‘just’ 469bhp, but the 63 S comes with a mighty 503bhp along with Mercedes’ 4MATIC 4WD and AMG’s new Speedshift nine-speed automatic.
That means the GLC 63 can get to 62mph in just 4.0 seconds and the S in 3.8 seconds, with both limited to 155mph unless you want to pay Mercedes to take the limiter off (and then it’s 167mph and 174mph respectively).
Standard equipment across the range includes performance braking, AMG Sports Suspension, rear diff lock, Comand Online Infotainment, AMG Sports Seats, Nappa Leather, Ambient Lighting, Memory Package and 19″ AMG 10 alloys.
Opt for the GLC 63 S and you can add Titanium Grey 20″ alloys, AMG Performance Seats, AMG Track Pace App and an electronic rear diff lock.
Also on offer, as is Mercedes’ wont, is the GLC 63 S Edition 1 – which costs £90,824 or £93,219 if you want the Coupe) which gets Grey Magno paint, yellow decals, ceramic brakes, AMG Performance Exhaust, 21″ AMG alloys in black with yellow rims, Burmester Sound, diamond pattern AMG Performance Seats with yellow stitching, Keyless and AMg Night Package.
The Edition 1 models show you what you can spend without trying too hard by speccing up the normal models, with everything from ceramic brakes (£4,285) to Premium Package (£2,595) on offer on the tick boxes.
The AMG GLC 63 and 63 S, and Coupe versions, as well as the Edition 1, are now on sale at Mercedes’ UK dealers, with first customer deliveries due in early 2018.
