With the new Mercedes CLA – the four-door coupe version of the new Mercedes A Class – revealed, we get the first video of the baby CLS.

We’d all expected Mercedes to reveal their new A Class Coupe – the Mercedes CLA – at the Detroit Auto Show this week, but apart from a brief unveiling at Detroit the CLA is getting its public debut at the Berlin Fashion Week in Germany this week instead. Which probably tells you all you need to know about the CLA’s USP.

That USP is the slick ‘Baby CLS’ look that will appeal not only to downsizers wanting a ‘proper’ Mercedes as an option, but those looking for a properly stylish, small luxury car. And for those buyers, the new Mercedes CLS fits the bill.

With great looks – which are remarkably faithful to the Mercedes Style Concept – and a wide choice of prices and specs, from the small, entry-level disels to the (yet to arrive) CLA 45 AMG, there’s a new CLA to fit most pockets.

And now, with details of the new CLA revealed and plenty of pictures to look at, Mercedes has delivered this first video of the new CLA – in this case a Mercedes CLA 220 CDi – to whet appetites for its new car even further.

The CLA video is a chunky eight minutes long – and in high resolution – so if you’re wondering exactly what the new CLA has to offer, this video will give you as good an idea as you’ll get short of coercing Mercedes to send one round to look at.

And we must say, the new CLA does look appealing – even in lowly CLA 220 CDI spec.
