The Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster & C63 AMG feature in the Super Bowl Advert
Mercedes previews the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster and C63 AMG Coupe in a Super Bowl Advert, which seems to feature almost every Mercedes ever made – and P Diddy.
The Super Bowl is a big deal in the US. Or so our US readers tell us. A bit like the FA cup. Or this year’s Ashes. Or beating the Aussies. With knobs on.
And a big part of the Super Bowl is the notoriously exorbitant cost of the TV adverts which intersperse said Super Bowl. And they are frequent, because American Football is full of stops and starts. Despite which, there’s big competition for the adverts spots.
And much of that competition comes from car makers, who see Super Bowl adverts as the pinnacle of their advertising desires. And they compete each year to come up with the best Super Bowl Advert – despite the costs.
This year – perhaps because they are celebrating 125 years – Mercedes has decided to play. Their advert seems to features almost every car from the start of Mercedes’ history up to concepts of Mercedes yet to come.
And if you look closely you’ll also see the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster and the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe put in an appearence. Neither of which has yet been revealed.
At 1:41 long this advert would probably cost something close to the national debt of a middle-sized South American country. Or Mexico.
No, wait. Mustn’t take the piss out of Mexico. The Mexican ambassador might be awake.
