Mitsubishi Outlander SE & Outlander GSE revealed

Mitsubishi has announced two new models in the Outlander range

Mitsubishi has announced two new models in the Outlander range

The last report we did on the Outlander was back in April, when Mitsubishi launched the Outlander GT at the New York Motor Show. But this time it’s an addition to the existing Mitsubishi Outlander Range, with the addition of a couple of models.

First up is the Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 DI-D SE, which offers pretty decent spec level. Included are 18″ alloys, Privacy glass, Bluetooth, extra airbags and a third row of seats. Move up the the Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 DI-D GSE and you can add leather and DVD.

Even though Mitsubishi has been doing 4x4s for ever with the Shogun, the Outlander is a different kettle of fish. Based on the Lancer’s underpinnings it is a much more road-focused 4×4 than its sibling. That’s not to say its just a soft-roader that can only manage muddy fields if pushed. It has proper, electronically controlled 4WD and a decent ground clearance, so it can do more than 95% of owners would ever ask. The engine is a VW sourced 2.0 litre diesel with 140bhp which – with its decent amount of torque – makes the Outlander reasonably brisk around town, and capable of towing an impressive load.

Prices are competitive at £20k for the SE and an extra £1.5k for the GSE.  You can also throw in 3 years servicing for just £295.
