The MINI Clubman City arrives as an entry-level Clubman aimed at business and fleet buyers, with low emissions, low BIK and a business focused spec.
The MINi Clubman, the MINI estate, is a proper lifestyle car, interested more in coaxing MINI owners to stick with the brand when they grow up and have children. And it works as a sales pitch – although not so well in the real world – offering MINI cool in a slightly more practical package.
But a lifestyle pitch isn’t one that works as well when it comes to business and fleet buyers, so we now get the MINI Clubman City as a re-focused Clubman designed to tug at the hearts of penny-pinching accountants and fleet buyers.
The Clubman City comes with a choice of two 1.5 litre engines, with the petrol version offering 101bhp, economy of 49.6mpg and emissions of 131g/km, and the diesel offering with 114bhp, 68.9mpg and emissions of 109g/km. Both models’ emissions and economy are WLTP figures.
The Clubman City comes with 16″ alloys (you can opt for 17″), a 6.5″ infotainment screen with Sat Nav, Apple CarPlay (but no Android Auto – how odd), Cruise Control so you can eat your sandwiches on the motorway, DAB and parking sensors.
The new MINI Clubman City costs from £19,995 for the petrol version.
