The new Porsche Macan S goes on sale in the UK after its recent update complete with suspension and engine tweaks and minor cosmetic updates. Costs from £48,750.
Back in the summer, Porsche revealed the new Macan, a Macan which looked just like the old Macan – unless you look really hard – but a Macan with improvements in all areas. And now the V6 Macan S goes on sale in the UK, with prices starting from £48,750.
The six-cylinder engine under the Macan’s bonnet has had a tweak or three and now delivers 349bhp and 354lb/ft of torque which, if you option the Chrono Pack, is enough to get you to 62mph in 5.1 seconds, a blink quicker than the previous Macan, thanks in part to the new twin-scroll turbo mounted in the Vee delivering torque lower down the rev range.
Porsche has also had a fiddle with the Macan’s suspension, replacing steel suspension forks with aluminium, tweaked anti-roll bars, new air suspension and active dampers and staggered wheel sizes.
Cosmetically, the Macan has had a minor makeover, with perhaps the most noticeable being the full width light bar at the back and the up-sized 11″ infotainment in the interior.
The Macan S joins the 2.0 litre Macan in Porsche’s UK showrooms, with the order book now open for the Macan S and prices starting at £48,750.
