The Renault Scenic has been a good seller for Renault and, hot on the heels of its big brother the Renault Grand Scenic, comes the detail for the new Renault Scenic that will arrive in UK showrooms in July.
Renault are making big play of how cheap the new Scenic is, saying it costs over £2,000 less than the Ford C-Max, and the new range starts at over £2,000 less than the old model. Which, in these constrained times, is not bad news at all.
But the range of Scenic models and options is a little confusing, to say the least. It’s almost as bad as trying to decide which Porsche 911 you want (if not quite as interesting!). There are a total of 28 versions to choose from in five different trim levels – Extreme, Expression, Dynamique, TomTom Edition and Privilège. Prices range from a modest £13,595 to a quite large £22,295.
There are a total of eight engines in the range, offering from 85bhp to 158bhp, but of these, three are new to the Scenic – 1.4 TCe 130, 2.0 VVT 140 CVT and 2.0 dCi 160 FAP.
Standard kit across the range includes a decent RDS/CD/MP3 sound system, air conditioning, ESP, front and rear curtain airbags and iPod connection. At the top end you get dual-zone climate control, electric folding mirrors, part leather upholstery and rear parking sensors.
First new Renault Scenics will arrive in UK showrooms on 17th July.

Hi,
I’ve just hired a 2010 Renault Scenic, I think it’s the 1.9 dCi with manual transmission.
My question is, does it have cruise control? If so, how does one operate it?
Cheers,
Asad
There’s a button between your leg and the gear shaft to turn on the speed limiter or the speed regulator. Then on the wheel use the +/- buttons to set the speed.
Or you could read the manual…
