The new Forester does look very like the current Forester, but it does get some cosmetic tweaks with new bumpers, a more defined crease down the flanks and new alloys, mas well as a few extra toys like a new Infotainment Centre and SatNav with reversing camera.
But what is also new is that in addition to a 2.0 litre petrol and diesel engine option – both with around 150PS – Subaru has confirmed the 2012 Forester will also get a new a new 2.0-litre direct injection turbo good for 280PS, which should bring a whole new dimension to the Forester experience.
Haydn Davies, Subaru UK’s Marketing Director, said:
Since the Forester’s launch in 1997, it has gained a loyal following across the UK for its rugged, go anywhere abilities and these developments will ensure it remains a firm SUV favourite. The fourth-generation Forester will feature the latest All-Wheel Drive system and Boxer engines, while a lot of work has gone into improving refinement, ride quality and safety.
The 2013 Subaru Forester is starting to look more interesting.

This is pretty much an all new car not just an old Forester with a few cosmetic tweaks. The track and wheelbase are increased, all the body panels are different, the hard points such as the scuttle are different, for example bringing forward the bottom of the windscreen by 8 inches, the interior is all new, the list goes on. so, it ias inaccurate to describe it as a facelift.

You have a point, although it’s not enough to call it an all-new Forester. And we did cover these changes when the Forester was revealed.
