The Volkswagen Polo 3 door is now available to order in the UK, starting at £9,435.
Due in the UK in January, the three-door Polo is now available to order in the UK. And actually, it’s a better looking car than its five-door sibling. The three door shape looks more aggressive and purposeful, but under the skin it’s the same competent little car.
Model designations are S, SE, Moda and SEL, with even the entry level S getting Air Bags, ABS, ESP and hydraulic brake assist, CD stereo, speed sensitive power steering and electric windows. Which for a starting price of £9,435 – and the build quality that comes as standard on a VW Polo – makes the Polo a good buy.
Engine choices are a pair of 1.6 litre diesels in either 74bhp or 88bhp, a pair of 1.2 litre petrols in either 59bhp or 69bhp and a 1.4 litre petrol with 84bhp.

Bought a new polo last March and looks like I’m about to fall foul of the windscreen wiper and bonnet paint fiasco. I’ve got a 1 inch area on the bonnet lip where the paint has just flaked away leaving the metal exposed. Without even seeing it, the paint shop said “Won’t be covered. Check your handbook”. Like the car but it’s silly things like this that really let VW down.
I bought a new polo earlier this year and after several problems from vw getting my vehicle and the specification i wanted. I have been driving around with a car i am really not happy with. The car makes a ridiculous loud noise while driving and stationary… and vw have suggested that this is a characteristic of the car. Has anyone else noticed this? I previously drove a 53 plate polo 1.2 also and this car didnt make half the noise of my brand new car. why would vw increase the noise and make it sound like you are driving a tractor.
Some other problems include knocking noise and electric windows not working, or getting stuck and not cllosing very annoying!
lolly
my mother bought a new 10 plate car brand new and damage from the windscreen wipers takeing the top bonnet lip paint down to the metal its about 30 days old and i am dissheartend by this poor design and the car was also lackerd in pearl on black ,why was this done at the factory to have extras done as im sure vw would rather do it them self , more to the point who is going to help me get the car repaired and a recall done a very upset let down customer m potts
I’ve just found same problem on my 2010 Polo, caused by blades being operated when folded away from screen.(no by me!) The only other person to clean the car was the dealership.
Been advised not covered by warrenty, but wondered how you got on?
The old basic E polo in 2007 was around £7000 Why is the cheapest model now £9,435 ? Seems like a big price hike
