Nissan has revealed price and model details for the Nissan Juke compact crossover, starting from just £12,795. First deliveries September 2010.
The Nissan Juke started life as the Nissan Qazana at Geneva in 2009, but became the Nissan Juke – and the replacement for the Nissan Micra at Nissan’s Sunderland plant – when it got signed off for production and finally revealed in production form at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.
And now it’s time for the UK details. And they’re a bit of a surprise. The Nissan Juke has a starting point of just £12,795 for the entry level 1.6 litre petrol with 2WD. Which puts it in to straight competition with smaller and less well equipped mainstream hatches like the Ford Fiesta.
Under the skin the Juke uses the same platform as the Renault Clio and Nissan Micra – just a bit longer and wider. Suspension is McPeherson strut at the front and torsion beam at the back, unless you opt for a 4WD version and then you get a decent multi-link setup at the back.
There are a choice of three engines – 1.6 litre 115bhp petrol, 1.5 dCi 108bhp diesel and a 1.6 litre turbo petrol delivering 187bhp. Strangely there is no decent diesel option. We’d have hoped to see the 2.0 litre dCi which delivers 150bhp on offer. The 2WD Jukes get a manual box as standard but the 4WD version get a CVT ‘box with torque vectoring.
Trim levels are Visia, Acenta and Tekna. Standard kit on the Visia includes 16″ alloys wheels, ESP, six airbags, sports seats and AirCon. Move up to the Acenta trim and you can add bigger alloys (17″), Climate, Bluetooth with USB and Nissan Dynamic Control Sytem. The range topping Tekna Trim offers leather Nissan Connect, reversing camera and keyless start.
Even the top of the tree Nissan Juke 1.6 DiG-T Tekna stays the right side of £20k, which is going to cause a bit of a stir all round. Nissan has sent us a pile of detail in the Nissan Juke UK Price and Models Press Release which is worth a read, but if you can’t be bothered the prices are below.
The Juke could easily duplicate the success Nissan had with the Qashqai at these prices and specs. And be built in Britain at Nissan’s plant in Sunderland (except the 4WD models which will come from Japan. For some reason).
Order book opens next month with first cars in September.

Hi, Is there a 4wd with automatic transmission or similar to a s-tronic?
CarsUK says
You can get Nissan’s XTRONIC CVT transmission, with six-speed manual mode, on the 1.6 DiG-T Tekna. But it will cost you £20k.
