The Nissan LEAF is getting a new trim grade – the LEAF Acenta+ – which sits between the Acenta and Tekna grades. Costs from £24,740 after taxpayer grant.
Maybe Nissan is hurting as sales of the Mitsubishi Outland PHEV shows the right way to go for electric cars, or maybe they’re just bigging up the LEAF ahead of the next-generation of their EV. But whichever it is, buyers of the LEAF now get an additional trim option with the new LEAF Acenta+.
The Acenta+ costs £1,150 more than a regular Acenta, but you do get more for your money.
The Acenta+ gets the 6.6kW on-board charger as standard as well as a Mode 3-32amp cable which allows the Acenta+ to go from zero to fully charged in four hours with a fully charged range (officially) of 124 miles. Also in the mix is a set of 17″ Autech alloys with blue accents.
James Wright, Nissan’s UK MD, said:
We’re delighted to add a new member to the LEAF family in the UK. More than 9,500 LEAFs have already been sold here and Nissan is the undisputed leader in the EV market. This new model delivers exceptional value and showcases the LEAF’s incredible technology and engineering.
The Nissan LEAF Acenta+ goes on sale today (1 July 2015), but at £24,740 it’s only a few grand less than the Outlander PHEV.
We know where we’d spend our hard-earned cash.
