The new Nissan X-Trail goes dog friendly as Nissan turn their X-Trail 4Dogs Concept in to a ‘Paw Pack’ to make the new X-Trail a very dog-friendly SUV.
Back in the spring, Nissan revealed the X-Trail 4Dogs as a dog-friendly concept to appeal to the UK’s vast army of dog lovers. And it looked like Nissan were on to something.
Despite tens of millions of dog owners in the UK, all that’s really on offer from car makers to accommodate the four-legged family members is a dog guard, with no real thought of making dog owners’ lives – and those of the dogs themselves – easier.
The 4Dogs Concept included stuff like a dog shower – which seemed very ‘Concept – but now Nissan has streamlined their offering and its now available, for real, as the Paw Pack for the new Nissan X-Trail.
There are now six practical components in the Paw Pack to make life easier for dog owners whose pets share their space, making the boot of the X-Trail dog heaven.
There’s the obvious dog guard boot separator, a ramp if your dog’s too small, too big or too fragile to leap in by itself, and a machine-washable dog bed.
There’s also a non-spill bowl (no more water bottles for after long walks), a boot liner to keep mud off the upholstery and a useful tidy for leads and poo bags. Perfect.
Grant Richards, Nissan’s Product Manager, said:
We’re delighted to release this innovative Paw Pack as we believe strongly that pets are important members of the family, as well as excellent travelling companions for those outdoors adventures.
The X-TRAIL Paw Pack lets our beloved companions travel with all the comfort and convenience we’d expect, and we look forward to helping our customers buy the perfect car for all their family — including their dogs.
The Nissan X-Trail Paw Pack is a dealer fit option, so if you’ve got an X-Trail – and a dog – then toddle off to your local Nissan dealer, stump up £599, and turn your X-Trail’s boot in to dog heaven.
