Alfa Romeo has joined Jeep by offering a five year warranty on its UK cars, as well as three years’ servicing and five years roadside assistance.
The Top Gear mantra that you can’t be a petrolhead unless you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo has a lot of truth to it, because buying an Alfa is something you do with your heart rather than your head, putting up with its foibles and fragility in exchange for thrills and beauty.
But now you can buy a new Alfa Romeo in the UK with your head as well as your heart.
Following on from Jeep’s announcement of a five year warranty in the UK, FCA has now delivered the same for Alfa Romeo, which means that nagging doubt about reliability, less deserved than it once was, can be ignored as you sign up for a new Alfa.
Just like the Jeep warranty, the new Alfa warranty gives you five years warranty – to 75,000 miles – three years of servicing and five years of roadside assistance. Which puts it up there with warranties from Hyundai and Toyota.
Alfa hasn’t been too brave with their new warranty offering, and the new deal only applies to Alfa’s newest offering – Giulia, Giulietta and Stelvio – with the MiTo and, perhaps soon to disappear, 4C having to make do with the old three year warranty.
The new Alfa Romeo five year warranty has already kicked in, and all new Alfas registered from 1 July come with the new enhanced offering.
