Pagani appears ready to reveal an ‘Evo’ upgrade for the track only Zonda R at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012.
If you thought the ‘launch’ of the Pagani Huayra meant the end of the Pagani Zonda, you’d be mistake.
The Huayra is fraught with ongoing problems for Pagani – most of them legislative – which means very few have found their way in to the wild (perhaps, and only perhaps, just one customer car is in existence).
That means Pagani are more than happy to build even more one-off Zonda’s for the deep of pocket to keep their coffers plenished, and now Pagani seems to have decided to extract a few pennies more from the 15 owners of the track-only Zonda R and, almost certainly, produce a few more upgraded Zonda Rs as the Pagani Zonda R Evo.
Said to get aerodynamic and power upgrades, with something north of 760bhp mooted – the Zonda R Evo is expected to make its debut at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of SPeed next weekend and make its way up the hillcimb in the hands of Bernd Schneider.
We have nothing official from Pagani on the Zonda R Evo, but this looks more than a rumour. We’ll find out in the next few days.
