We have a terrific video of the Pagani Zonda R, from creation to action on a rain sodden track.
Well, ‘Ultimate Video’ may be slightly overstating the case, but it is a crackingly good video.
As we said when we reported that Pagani were taking a Zonda Cinque Roadster to the Geneva Motor Show – and again when we told you about the Zonda Tricolore – we are almost at the end of the Zonda, with the Pagani C9 due to bow on the world stage in September undisguised (although we’ve seen plenty of Pagani C9 spy photos). So the Zonda isn’t really news any more, and the Zonda R even less so.
But we have a huge fondness for Horacio Pagani’s creations, so when this latest video of the Pagani Zonda R came our way this morning we didn’t need much of an excuse to put it up for you to view. It’s a year since the Zonda R was officially revealed and there are only ever going to be a handful made (we won’t quote a specific number as, despite specifics being issued on the number to be built, the Zonda R – as with all Zondas – is more than a little flexible on final numbers) but with a few still available you can probably look on this video as a Zonda R Promo.
We get an opening sequence of the Zonda being ‘Created’ (created suits so much better than built) and we then move on to a sodden track with a pair of Zonda Rs in action. It’s beautifully lit and beautifully shot, and you even get a guest appearance by their creator – Horacio Pagani – looking on benignly from the pit wall. The soundtrack is also pretty good, with some great wails from the Zonda and a Carl Orff feel to the music.
As we said; any excuse to run a decent bit of Zonda footage will do.
