Peugeot Bipper Tepee launches

The Peugeot Bipper Tepee MPV

The Peugeot Bipper Tepee MPV

Peugeot has launched the Bipper Tepee – a van based MPV offering five seats and sliding doors for under £10k.

The daft name fits the Bipper Tepee. It’s a pretty daft looking vehicle. There will be some who love it, but most won’t. It is what it looks – a van with windows and seats. But if you’re looking for cheap and versatile ways to move your brood around the Bipper Tepee could fit the bill.

The Bipper Tepee is basically a Bipper van that’s been modded to change it in to a ‘car’. It’s the first time Peugeot has pulled this trick with the Bipper van, although they’ve been the same route with the Partner van which became the Partner Combi and is now the Partner Tepee (Tepee is Peugeot’s code for ‘It’s got seats).

So the van with seats does offer what you’d expect from a van – loads of room. It has fold-down rear seats that split 1/3rd 2/3rd for a bit of extra versatility and sliding doors to make it easy to strap in the kids in a car park. It comes with a pair of fairly puny engines – a 1.4 petrol and a 1.4 diesel – but the diesel offers £35 VED with its 119g/km CO2 and 62.8mpg. You get a choice of five-speed manual or, if you opt for the diesel version, you can have an electronically controlled manual which allows you to self-shift or leave it to the ‘box.

Two trim levels are on offer – S and Outdoor. Prices start at under £10k for the S 1.4 8V rising to £12,595 for the Outdoor HDi 70 2-Tronic, Spec is pretty measly and includes steel wheels, ABS and CD.

But what do you want for under £10k?

  1. Contax says:

I would also like a Bipper Tepee without the seats for me, wife, dog and mobility scooter, if I buy the van it is dearer to tax with poorer visibility and poorer trim, I believe vans are also more expensive to insure, I would prefer Outdoor trim as it has roof rails & air con included.
All I can find local is the van, emailed Peugeot for Tepee internal measurements to check if scooter will fit, all they can quote is litres, how useless are they?

    • Contax says:

At last I found a Bipper Tepee to measure although Robins & Day don’t know the difference of a Fiat 1.3 HDi stop start with DPF and a PSA 1.4 HDi, another dealer ordered me a 1.4 HDi and sent me log book, it’s a 1.3 HDi so I have refused it, argued wuth Peugeot UK and they have found the dealer a 1.4 HDi (I hope), they have a 700 mile round trip to collect it, I hope it arrives this time as a good deal with over £3K discount on list price, keeping my fingers crossed.

  3. Elaine says:

how many seats is their in a peugeot bipper?

  4. Brian Carter says:

Do I have to buy the Bipper model with the rear seats which I know fold up, but I am more wanting to use the car for just two adults and want the extra space for camping equipment and folded bicycles

    • CarsUK says:

If you don’t need the rear seats then you can buy a Bipper Van instead of the Bipper Tepee, which has no rear windows and no rear seats. It’s exactly what it says on the tin – a van.
