Peugeot has released price and model details on the RCZ

The new Peugeot RCZ will start from £19,900 in the UK for the RCZ 1.6 litre THP 156 Manual with level 1 trim.

The extremely appetising Peugeot RCZ is due to have its public reveal next week at Frankfurt, and Peugeot has announced model and pricing details for the Audi TT competing RCZ.

Big news is the starting price. We’d guessed at just sub £20k when Peugeot released the details, and today comes the confirmation that the entry level RCZ – 1.6 litre THP 156 Manual with level 1 trim – will come in at £19,900. Top of the range will be the RCZ 2.0 litre HDi 163 Manual with level 2 trim that starts at £24,000 and the 1.6 litre THP 200 Manual which comes in at £24,500.

The entry level trim – inspiringly called ‘Level 1′ – includes 18” alloy wheels, sports front seats, dual zone air-conditioning, folding rear seat, rear parking aid, deadlocks, selective access locking, alarm and immobiliser, four airbags, ESP, EBFD, EBA, ABS, double bubble rear screen, black roof panel, active rear spoiler and twin rear sports’ exhaust.

Move up to ‘Level 2′ (sounds like a video game) and you can add leather interior, electric heated front seats, carpet mats, front parking aid, auto tilting (when reversing) door mirrors, automatic lights, follow-me-home lighting, automatic windscreen wipers, automatic exterior approach lighting, 19” alloy wheels and leather front sports seats.

But the options don’t stop at the trim levels. Also on offer are 19” alloy wheels, carbon roof panel, integral leather, Peugeot connect media navigation 3D (NG4), xenon headlamps, directional lights, gloss black brake calipers, black roof arches, matt roof arches and JBL Hi Fi Pack.

Even the top of the range is a sensible price. If the RCZ drives half as good as it looks Peugeot will be on a winner.

The RCZ goes on sale in the Spring of 2010

Probably depends on how old they are!

It looks great but does it have the same neck heating system in front seats as the 308 CC ?

It doesn’t need it until Peugeot launch the convertible RCZ. But it’s a fair bet then that they’ll offer the ‘Airwave’ neck heating system.

It looks nice but from what I’ve read it will be under-powered. You might look flash but everyone will be going past you…

Well it’s the first car to come along that’s persuaded me to part with my dearly loved 10 year old MGF – and that’s saying something ….

We have the RCZ in for a week for review in September – so we’ll be finding out what it’s like to live with. And we don’t mind the advert for your forum, but you can also discuss the RCZ – and any other Peugeot – in the Cars UK Peugeot Forum.
