Things are certainly moving at a quicker pace with the Rolls Royce Ghost now it’s getting close to its official production reveal at Frankfurt in September (although the lucky few will see the RR Ghost unveiled in Cannes on July 2nd).
We’ve seen a few virtually undisguised Ghosts recently (the best of which is above) and the cars seem to be cropping up all over the place, as Rolls Royce does the final shake-downs.
And now Rolls Royce has unveiled the Rolls Royce Ghost Configurator online, so you can go and play and change the interior and exterior colour schemes and choose whether you want the stainless steel bonnet (yes, please).
It’s a bit too early in the reveal process to get anything significant on the configurator. You can’t do much more than play with colour schemes. There are no long lists of RR wheels or power options for the 6.6 litre engine. No mention of any of the bits we don’t know about already in fact, but you can’t blame Rolls Royce for that. They need to keep some powder dry for the official reveal, after all.
Rolls Royce has high hopes for the Ghost, and reaction so far hs been very good. It has a more cohesive style that the Phantom, but still looks very much Rolls Royce. As a competitor for the new Grand Bentley and perhaps even the Mercedes S65 AMG and the BMW 760, it will need to be very good. But BMW have done a great job with the Phantom, and we’d be very surprised if the Ghost doesn’t surpass that achivement.
Of course, once we’ve seen the final production model at Franfurt we can then strat to look forward to the Rolls Royce Ghost DHC and the Rolls Royce Ghost Coupe.
You didn’t think it was going to stop with just the one model, surely?
