Rolls Royce has created a special edition of the Phantom Coupe – the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Edition – to debut at Pebble Beach.
With the Pebble Beach petrolhead jolly about to kick-off in Monterey, Rolls Royce has revealed a limited edition Phantom Coupe – the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Edition – which will debut at Quail and celebrates Charles Rolls’ passion for aviation.
Finished in Aviator Grey he Phantom Coupe Aviator gets a matt finished bonnet complete with matching window and grill surrounds. The interior features a Thommen aviation-grade clock with blood orange needle tips, a metal foil upper fascia and matt black dials.
The lower fascia gets veneered in mahogany with polished stainless steel onlays with bullet-shaped ends and the transmission tunnel gets prettied-up with anodised aluminium with exposed torx fixings. Even the leather-lined glove-box gets a makeover with an embossed Charles Rolls quote, made following the Wright Brothers’ first flight: “The power of flight is as a fresh gift from the Creator, the greatest treasure yet given to man”.
The Phantom Coupe Aviator is all about paying tribute to founder Charles Rolls and the Schneider Trophy-winning Supermarine S6B – powered by a Rolls Royce R Type engine – and “ the spirit of human endeavour that drove a very British hero and subsequently led Rolls-Royce to simultaneous world speed records on land, air and in the water”
Just 35 Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Editions are being built at a price that will no doubt be more than the £253,125 list price of the regular Phantom Coupe.
