Saab 9-5 (2010) track test video

The Saab 9-5 on the Track

The Saab 9-5 on the Track. Video below.

Saab has sent us a video of the 2010 Saab 9-5 out on track in Sweden. Car looks good. Commentary’s a bit dull. Still, better than the other way round.

Saab are trying hard. They’ve had a pretty awful time of it under GM and are no doubt pleased to still be in existence and under the rather more understanding ownership of Spyker. And they have new product to push – notably the 2010 Saab 9-5.

So they’re getting the new 9-5 under our noses – as they should. After we asked Saab a bunch of questions this week – which they still haven’t answered – they did send us a thumping great press release with a mass of information on the 9-5. Which still didn’t answer our questions.

But never mind, we’re still favourably disposed to the new 9-5 and we’re looking forward to going to play with it. Although if Saab can’t answer a few simple questions I’m not sure if they’re going to be able to organise a press car for us.

Minor gripes apart – and we really do like the look of the 9-5 package – we’ve got a video from Saab with Performance Integration Manager of Vehicle Dynamics Stefan Rundquist (will that all fit on his name badge at a conference?) out on track for an exciting blat round and an enthusiastic commentary. Well, as enthusiastic as a commentary from a Swede ever can be.

But the Saab 9-5 looks good. And Saab are doing their job well.

Even if they can’t answer questions.
