The name is Alfa – Alfa Romeo 159 Limited Edition

That’s right. Alfa Romeo has launched a limited edition version of the Alfa Romeo 159 to celebrate the cameo role the 159 plays in the new Bond film Quantum of Solace.

This Limited Edition Alfa Romeo 159 is loaded with over £3k of extras, including Red Brembo callipers, black leather upholstery, special black paint finish, darkened 19″ alloys and lowered suspension.

The 159 is limited to a UK car production of just 250, and will sell for just over £22k otr. It’s powered by a 1.9 litre JDM Diesel, with 150bhp, 0-60 in 9.2 seconds and averages 47mpg.

As an incentive to test drive the Alfa, dealers are offering the opportunity to win a James Bond Quantum of Solace Scalextric set, which includes a model of the Alfa Romeo 159 and the Aston Martin DBS – the real Bond car.

It’s a nice little promo to tie in with the Quantum of Solace advertising, and gives Alfa the opportunity to be a ‘Nearly’ Bond car for 5 minutes. But it would have been much more interesting if the Bond Alfa had been the 8C – but then that car didn’t need any pushing.

Still, I’d never turn down the opportunity to have a free drive in any Alfa, and if as an upshot I won a Scalextric I’d be very happy to revert to childhood for a day or two!
